Description
The 1908 is Rolex’s return to a formal dress watch, launched in 2023 under the Perpetual name and built on a case that borrows nothing from the Oyster line. It is the only current Rolex with a display back and the only one offered on a leather strap in gold. The intense white dial carries a rice-grain guilloche center that changes with the light. For collectors it represents the house working outside its own conventions.
A 39 mm yellow gold case with a divided bezel, finely fluted in its lower section and domed in its upper section, slim enough to sit under a cuff, on a matt black alligator strap with a folding Dualclasp. The intense white dial holds applied gold hour markers and a small seconds register at six. A transparent case back leaves the movement in view. The strap keeps the watch lighter and more discreet than the gold bracelet version.
