Description
The TBR suffix marks baguette-cut stones, and on this Daytona they appear on the bezel, the lugs and the dial. Very little of the gold case is left uncovered, which puts the watch well outside the usual chronograph category. Baguette cuts read as blocks of light rather than points, so the effect is broader than round stones give. It is among the most heavily worked watches that Rolex has ever built on this particular case.
The 40 mm case is Yellow Gold, with diamonds set into the lugs and right across the bezel. A golden dial carries baguette-cut diamond hour markers, with further diamond markers at three, six and nine. Small seconds sit at six o’clock, with chronograph counters at three and nine and center seconds sweeping. Three-piece solid links in Yellow Gold form the Oyster bracelet, closing on a folding Oysterlock safety clasp.
