Description
The Daytona traces to 1963, when Rolex created it as a professional racing chronograph and named it for the Florida circuit that had become synonymous with high-speed endurance competition. Reference 116515LN represents the previous-generation Everose Daytona introduced in 2011 — Rolex’s proprietary 18-karat rose gold alloy blended with copper and platinum to preserve its warm hue against fading — paired with the monobloc black Cerachrom ceramic bezel that gave the reference its distinctive contemporary character. The chocolate brown dial with contrasting black subdials became among the most sought-after configurations, executed at the intersection of the model’s motorsport heritage and its highest expression of jewelry-grade material.
The 40mm case in 18-karat Everose gold features the black monobloc Cerachrom bezel with engraved tachymetric scale and Triplock screw-down crown and chronograph pushers. The chocolate sunray dial carries three contrasting black subdials — small seconds at six, 30-minute counter at three, 12-hour counter at nine — with Everose gold applied index markers and hands, filled with Chromalight luminescence. The in-house automatic Caliber 4130 — a self-winding chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch — delivers a 72-hour power reserve, completed by a black Oysterflex bracelet with Everose gold Oysterlock safety clasp.
