Description
Silver with set numerals under a set bezel, all in white metal, is the most self-effacing decorated Datejust Rolex makes. The stones on the dial sit against a ground of almost the same brightness, so they barely separate at all. Only the bezel stones read clearly, because they have the case edge behind them to provide some contrast. That leaves a watch that is heavily worked and almost impossible to notice from any real distance.
The 36 mm case is Stainless Steel and the bezel above it is White Gold set with diamonds. A silver dial carries Roman numerals in gold, with the six and the nine set with diamonds. The date sits at three under a Cyclops lens, and baton hands cross the sunray finish beneath. Five-piece Jubilee links in Stainless Steel run the bracelet to a folding Oysterclasp with a comfort extension.
